DIY Coasters Made from Recycled Materials

DIY Coasters Made from Recycled Materials

Introduction

Coasters are a great way to protect your furniture from water rings and scratches. But store-bought coasters can be expensive. In this blog post, we'll show you how to make your own coasters from recycled materials. This is a great way to save money and be kind to the environment.

Materials

  • Cardboard
  • Fabric scraps
  • Scissors
  • Mod Podge
  • Paint brush

Instructions

  1. Cut out squares from the cardboard. These will be the base of your coasters.
  2. Cut out squares of fabric that are slightly larger than the cardboard squares.
  3. Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge onto the cardboard square.
  4. Place the fabric square on top of the Mod Podge and smooth out any wrinkles.
  5. Brush another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the fabric.
  6. Allow the coasters to dry completely.

Tips

  • You can use any type of fabric for your coasters. Just make sure it's a fabric that you like and that will complement your home decor.
  • If you don't have Mod Podge, you can use white glue or even clear tape to adhere the fabric to the cardboard.
  • Once your coasters are dry, you can add a layer of sealant to protect them from spills.
