DIY Coasters Made from Recycled Materials
Introduction
Coasters are a great way to protect your furniture from water rings and scratches. But store-bought coasters can be expensive. In this blog post, we'll show you how to make your own coasters from recycled materials. This is a great way to save money and be kind to the environment.
Materials
- Cardboard
- Fabric scraps
- Scissors
- Mod Podge
- Paint brush
Instructions
- Cut out squares from the cardboard. These will be the base of your coasters.
- Cut out squares of fabric that are slightly larger than the cardboard squares.
- Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge onto the cardboard square.
- Place the fabric square on top of the Mod Podge and smooth out any wrinkles.
- Brush another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the fabric.
- Allow the coasters to dry completely.
Tips
- You can use any type of fabric for your coasters. Just make sure it's a fabric that you like and that will complement your home decor.
- If you don't have Mod Podge, you can use white glue or even clear tape to adhere the fabric to the cardboard.
- Once your coasters are dry, you can add a layer of sealant to protect them from spills.
